Following on from last year, the second Gala Day at the Woodman Pub organised by our supported charity "Start a Heart" was a resounding success raising just over
£7500.

Another successful charity event, MITG raised approximately £36,000.

Marie Curie President Tom Cycle Ride

President Tom finished his year on a high, completing his 100 mile Aperetif du Grand Depart cycle ride around the Rotary Clubs of South Yorkshire in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care. The event raised over £4000 for the Charity.

July, the start of the new Rotary year and the new President is Graham Hudson with Roger Fearn as his Vice-President.

The first potentially-lifesaving defibrillator funded by an appeal in memory of our Past-President Stuart Lister has been unveiled.

Stuart's wife Trish and daughter Carrie launched the "Start a Heart 24:7" Charity in memory of Stuart following his death last year from a heart attack.

The Games were attended by around 420 athletes. With carers, drivers, event management, families and friends, around 2500 people had a great day.

We have two major fund raising events left this year which need support from the whole club. May 23rd sees our golf competition at Wath. We have 12 teams entered but we could still do with a few more teams if we are to achieve our target of £2,000 to be raised from the event. If you are a golfer then please consider at least playing in the competition even if you can’t field a team.
