On 22nd November 2018, the Rotary Club of Rotherham Sitwell welcomed District Governor Cheryle Berry MBE. Members were very taken with her warm personality and her clear focus of actively bringing to life the Rotary theme of "Be the Inspiration".

Five of us ventured over to the District Conference at Scarborough. The three Amigos, Trish and I thought it would be rude not to take in some of the sights whilst we were there. Being President I insisted that a visit to RNLI was a religion I wasn't about to break and so ensured this was our first stop.

Start a Heart, one of our supported charities, has been in the news again recently.
The first two photos were taken at the installation of a Start a Heart defibrillator outside Rotherham Town Hall. The NCS students in the photo raised £1000 to pay for the defibrillator and Start a Heart financed the cabinet.

Steve Wylie of Shiloh, one of our supported charities, addressed the members of the Club on Thursday 18 October, and talked about the non-residential day support that Shiloh offers to the homeless and those at risk of becoming homeless.

The Club ran the "Pull a String" stall at the Rotherham Show this year. Visitors included the Mayor and Mayoress.

On Thursday 16 August, the Club members were entertained by Joe Walker and Danny Thompson who gave a talk on "People in Need Worldwide", a charity formed by the two speakers in the year 2000 and one which we have supported as part of our Framework for Giving.
Each year, Joe and Danny choose a project and they raise the money themselves to complete it.
