Although Rotherham Sitwell Rotary did not run the mobile Santa float at Christmas 2020 because of Covid, we supported Rotherham Round Table in their efforts to bring some festive joy to communities in the town. An article covering their hard work appeared in the Rotherham Advertiser as shown in the attached photo.

More publicity in the Rotherham Advertiser, this time about our support for Newman School. Well done Paul G.

Sadly, because of Covid-19, Santa and his Sleigh are unable to carry out the usual Christmas programme. Instead children can talk to Santa online and tell him what they are hoping he will bring them this Christmas.

Two articles in the recent edition of the Rotherham Advertiser report on our support for the supply of face masks for Rotherham Hospital and for the memory of Liam Allen.

The attached photo shows some of the masks provided to the Rotherham Hospital Paediatric Department by a sewing group co-ordinated by Sally Atkinson, Patient Access Service Manager at the Trust. The masks are child friendly,
with superhero or even a Hallowe’en theme. The club has given funds to support the purchase of materials to keep the supply flowing.

The meeting yesterday evening 5th November was a Fellowship meeting in the form of musical memories. Members were asked to select music that had significant memories for them. They then had to explain the background to their choice and this was then followed by the music being played. Not surprisingly some of the memories were poignant and some were funny.

Our thanks to the Rotherham Advertiser for publishing the attached article showing the Town Hall illuminated in purple to commemorate World Polio Day on 24 October 2020.

Apples donated by Mike Sumption of Rotherham Rotary Club and delivered to Rotherham Foodbank by Roger Green. Many thanks Mike.
