Fishtail Fund Update

Dibas Subedi is the young Nepalese student from Pokhara, that Rotherham Sitwell Rotary sponsored
in 2017 by donating £500 to support him throughout his secondary education. This support is
through the Fishtail Fund which was set up by Pokhara Fishtail Rotary in Nepal and Dronfield Rotary
which is in our district (1220).
As reported previously, Dibas’s education has been significantly hit by Covid-19 and he had to wait
quite a long time to receive his results. Nevertheless he has achieved well and is now studying for his
engineering entrance examinations.
Dibas writes:
“I keep on motivating myself for better upcoming future with your support for my education.
As I have already informed you, I want to be a civil engineer and I am focussed on that. I assure you
that I will study hard and put my effort to achieve my goal.”
I am about to write back to Dibas so if anyone has a personal message for him please let me know
and I will include it. Once I know if he has been successful in his engineering entrance examinations,
I hope to propose that we provide new support for his higher education through the Fishtail Fund. I
will of course provide details when I know them.
