Pushpa Venkatraman and a group of ladies who live on the Duke of Norfolk Estate have been supporting Rotherham Hospital during the coronavirus pandemic by making PPE equipment (scrubs) for frontline nurses and staff. To support this worthy cause, Rotherham Sitwell Rotary Club donated money to purchase rolls of suitable PPE material for Pushpa and her ladies.

Our Handover meeting took place on Thursday 25th June when Trish Lister was installed as our new President for the Rotary year 2020/21.

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic our club has been meeting via Zoom and through the power of video magic, we managed to perform the handover 'during' the meeting. The video is well worth watching and can be seen on our Facebook page at

Rotarians Roger Green and Steve Burns, who have been doing the bulk of the work collecting and delivering food to Rotherham Foodbank and other charities, have been nicknamed Batman and Robin by District Rotary. I wonder why? (see photo) Well done to the Dynamic Duo for all their hardwork and commitment to Rotary (Service above Self).

Friday 27th June is International Scoliosis Day. Pippa Walker has suffered from the condition from the age of 11. She has been fundraising for Sheffield Childrens Hospital for a few years. Pippa is releasing a single to all music platforms on the 27th. The single was written with scoliosis in mind but is for anybody suffering from any disability or mental illness.

How have our charities been running during the Covid-19 Pandemic and Lockdown?
