Speaker Meeting - Life in a Category A Prison

4th April was a speaker meeting and we were given an enthralling talk by Catriona on her job as a Custodial Manager at a category A prison. She has been a prison officer for 21 years so she had lots of stories to tell on subjects such as prison riots, paedophiles, drug smuggling and many others. A lot different from the images portrayed in Porridge with Ronnie Barker. She has come face to face with some of the UK's most notorious murderers and sex offenders. Her bravery and fortitude in the face of daily danger is outstanding and has resulted in her receiving several awards and commendations. The talk ended on a humorous note when she demonstrated the use of an old style baton on President Peter.
